Requested Minimum Qualifications | The successful candidate for this position will possess the following: - A terminal degree, and a record of research and scholarly achievements appropriate for appointment to the rank of associate professor in one of the College’s academic units; - Demonstrated ability to articulate, implement and innovate a clear vision for the Quarles Institute; - Appreciation for and interest in faculty and student research as well as staff professional growth; - Excellent leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to build collaborative initiatives; - Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders including students, faculty, and staff; - Excellent written and oral communication skills, and intercultural communication skills; - Ability to work independently and collaboratively with individuals inside and outside the organization; - Ability and willingness to work some evenings or weekends that may include limited out-of-state travel. |
Other Preferences for Consideration | - Record of excellence in teaching, research, creative activities, service, and administration; - Record of securing and managing grants and fund-raising; - Minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience in academia, - Some supervision and personnel management experience; - Commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and access, and experience working in a diverse higher education environment with students, faculty and staff from multiple identities/groups. |
