The Louisiana Center for Bleeding & Clotting Disorders (LCBCD) full-time Hemophilia Physical Therapist is responsible for providing physical therapy services for the patients of the Center, both pediatric and adult, including clinical care, research participation, outreach, and education. This position involves seeing patients at the LCBCD Lakeside clinic, UMC New Orleans clinic, and outreach clinics located throughout the state (currently Lafayette and Alexandria). This position also includes providing physical therapy services and education at summer camp, patient retreats, and community events. The primary clinical responsibilities will include: administering treatment modalities, joint injection duties, using ultrasound as a diagnostic tool, restoring range of motion, ensuring patient quality-of-life and activities of daily living, gait and mobility, pre-op and post-op therapy, telephone consultation and community education. Ability to work with a diverse patient population and ability to manage patients with different cultures and personality types is a must and travel to outreach clinics and trainings will be required. The full-time physical therapist will be an integral member of the LCBCD comprehensive interdisciplinary team.
