Job Description:

Graduate assistantships are open ONLY to those who are in the process of enrolling in a graduate degree program at the University OR have recently been accepted to a graduate program at the University.

Campus Title: Graduate Assistant
Job Type: Part-Time, Temporary
Hours per week: Varies depending on the position
Regular Days Off: Varies depending on the position
Supervision Received: Varies depending on the position
Salary: A stipend plus a tuition remission benefit, depending on the position
Salary Basis: Biweekly
Anticipated Start Date: Fall 2023

The University offers a limited number of graduate assistantships to graduate students each year.  Assistantships are highly competitive and are awarded to students with superior academic records who are matriculated in a graduate degree program.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to conduct research quickly and accurately
  • Positive attitude  
  • Additional qualifications may be required depending upon position

Requirements:

  1. Must be matriculated in a Westfield State University graduate degree program*
  2. Must be registered minimally for six (6) credits per semester
  3. Must maintain good academic standing

*Applicants who have not yet been officially accepted into a graduate program may be considered only if they have a completed graduate application on file with the College of Graduate and Continuing Education.


Additional Information:

Graduate assistantships are temporary and will expire at the end of the academic year, contingent upon acceptable performance reviews and good academic standing in the interim.
