Yamhill County Health and Human Services has one regular, full-time position available on the Family & Youth team for a Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA)/HS Specialist I with a minimum certification of Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC I). The person in this position will provide drug and alcohol services in both clinic and school-based settings as part of an integrated Behavioral Health Outpatient treatment program for youth. Up to 20 hours per week will be spent providing services in a rural, school-based setting. Duties will include conducting alcohol & drug assessments, developing A&D service plans, providing individual and group treatment, collecting and monitoring urinalysis processes and outcomes, providing community education for substance use/abuse prevention, and documenting all services in the Electronic Health Record system in a timely manner. Work hours will include day and evening hours to accommodate diverse client programming needs. 

The Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field and at least one year of experience in a setting relevant to the duties and skills above are required. Must meet the qualifications of a Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA) as identified by the Mental Health & Addiction Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO) and must also meet, or have the ability to meet, the qualifications of a CADC-R to work in chemical dependency program within one (1) month of hire and a CADC I within one (1) year of hire. Any satisfactory equivalent combination of experience and training which ensures the ability to perform the work may substitute for the degree. Must have an NPI number or be able to obtain one upon employment. Knowledge of juvenile justice systems is desirable. Will be subject to successful completion of a background check..
 
Special Requirements:

 The Candidate:
The successful candidate must demonstrate a working knowledge of techniques specifically related to community mental health services and have the abilities to: understand the behavior of people under stress, understand the impact of trauma on adolescent and family dynamics; develop cooperative relationships with clients, their families, and the community; maintain relationships with physicians, law enforcement agencies, the courts, public and private administrators, and the community in general; interpret community mental health and chemical dependency services, and prepare concise and complete clinical documentation; they shall have a strength-based and trauma-informed approach, and integrate these concepts into evidence-based practices to promote the recovery process with clients. Additionally, they must demonstrate excellent communication skills, computer proficiency, and will be dependable, organized, self-directed, detail-oriented, and possess the ability to work in a team environment and to interact with co-workers, clients, and the public in
a courteous, professional manner.
