Development Coordinator 

General Function:

The Development Coordinator will provide leadership and professional expertise in the planning, implementation, and management of Lenoir Community College Foundation events. This position also supports the work of the Foundation in developing awareness by individuals, organizations, and businesses in the community. The Development Coordinator is an integral member of the development team and helps support all the functions of the Institutional Advancement Office.      

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

The duties of the Development Coordinator include, but are not limited to:                         

  • Ability to write clear, effective, and persuasive communications to include appeal brochures, letters, and newsletter contributions. Excellent command of the English language.
  • Identifies and acquires new donors in lower and middle range of giving through research, direct marketing initiatives, cultivation, and solicitation efforts.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret foundation-related financial reports.
  • Plan, organize, and implement special events for the LCC Foundation including, but not limited, to the annual golf tournament, tennis tournament, and President's Reception.
  • Develop and implement annual special events calendar for LCC Foundation including significant deadlines for each special event.
  • Conduct benchmarking and evaluations for all special events; assuring accountability for all fiscal matters, adherence to the Foundation's policies and procedures.
  • Oversee securing, training, and scheduling volunteers and LCC Ambassadors to participate in events and fundraising activities and assigns tasks.
  • Maintain a positive, helpful, constructive attitude and work relationship with supervisor, college staff, students, and the community.
  • Works in partnership with other Institutional Advancement staff to design Annual Fund solicitation and events.
  • Develop and manage marketing and public relations activities related to special events and donor solicitations.
  • Assist with passport applications and associated duties as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Institutional Advancement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Three years of nonprofit and/or foundation experience.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and have the ability to adapt to other professional software applications for resource development.
  • Ability to type at least 50 words per minute.
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently, but also have the ability to work as a team player.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a valid driver's license.
  • Must have a clean driving record.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a North Carolina Notary Public.
  • Must be able to score 90% or higher on the Passport Application Acceptance Training Course.
