Automation Coordinator

Chesterfield County's Department of Utilities is seeking an Automation Coordinator. Responsibilities include the supervision of automation staff for the Department of Utilities. Perform strategic IT planning; evaluate user needs to design and test business processes; act as project manager for applications that involve Utilities' data as needed; work directly with county IST Development Staff for the analysis, design, creation and maintenance of Utilities specific applications; develop and maintain reports for management; provide support for help desk; complete special projects. Perform other work as required. Successful candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in information systems or related field and five years of information systems experience with a minimum of two years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Excellent analytical and organizational skills required. Demonstrated ability to perform strategic IT planning, as well as budget and maintain an IT Master Plan. Considerable knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques of systems analysis. Knowledge of current application development tools and environments. Experience with SQL required. Experience with customer information systems or billing applications preferred. Experience with Crystal Reports desired. Demonstrated ability to manage IT projects of varying size and complexity. Project Management certification preferred. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; excellent customer service and time management skills required. Must have teamwork skills and be able to work in a cooperative and collaborative environment. Experience with current hardware/technology such as microcomputers, servers, wireless communication devices, Local Area and Storage Area Networks and the use of virtualization.
