Production Assistant-Dayton Oregon

This position is responsible for carrying out specific jobs assigned from Department Managers and Supervisors. These jobs will be carried out in accordance to or beyond company standards in efficiency, quality, and safety. Effective communication and timely implementation are expected. The nursery’s goal is to develop an individual with a profound work ethic and knowledge, allowing continued growth and becoming part of a dedicated production team.

Responsibilities:
• Shipping liaison.
• Updating GIS files for the nursery and exploring additional usage for this software. Field acreages, pump sites, wells, precision agriculture development, irrigation system mapping & other misc. projects.
• Computer system & process development. Learn current system with the intent to adapt and make changes to data/communication flow for better efficiencies.
•Technical Assistance Irrigation
• Drip irrigation development.
• Moisture monitoring development.
• Working with vendors regarding irrigation equipment.
• Precision Agriculture
• Developing protocols for GPS tractor usage.
• Research and development.
• Conservation Practices
• Research and development as well as implementation.

Requirements:
• PC comfortable and ability to learn all accompanying software.
• Be familiar with and proficient in common nursery practices.
• Valid and insurable Driver’s License.
• Degree in horticulture with basic knowledge of plant identification.
