Cornejo Forestry Service, Inc. is hiring 35 Forest Workers to work in various counties in West AL and Northeast MS from December 15, 2018 to April 30, 2019. All worksite locations are within a 60 miles radius of 198 County Road 47, Fayette AL 35555.

Hourly wage of $15.06.

Mondays-Fridays (7 hours) (8:00 AM to 3:30 PM); 35 hours per week. Manual itinerant work hand planting tree seedlings, pre-commercial thinning, herbicide application, and pruning to reforest and maintain timberlands. Full time temp job offer. Workers may be offered additional hours in a single work day. Severe weather may affect the number of available hours during a work wk. Weekend work may be offered. No overtime. Required physical stamina. Extensive walking over rough terrain. Work is in adverse weather. Must lift and carry 50 lbs. No education or experience required If applicable, transportation and a subsistence allowance to the job will be paid upon completion of 50% of the employment period or earlier.

Return transportation will be provided or paid for by the employer if the non-local worker completes the employment period or is dismissed early by the employer. Employer provides transportation between worksites. Transportation provided to daily worksites from a central location at no cost. No overnight travel required Workers pay own room and board. Shared housing may be available for a cost of $15.00 per week for workers residing outside of the commuting area. Production standard of 1750 trees correctly planted per 7 hours day after one week of on the job training. Employer provides all tools, supplies and equipment required to perform the job.

Employer may pay piece rates of $33/1000 seedlings planted, $10/acre fertilized, $4.50/acre sprayed, and $20/acre thinned correctly, depending on worksite location, but not less than $15.06 per hour. If a piece rate does not result in average hourly piece rate earnings during the pay period at least equal to the amount the worker would have earned had the worker been paid at the hourly rate, the worker's pay will be supplemented to increase the earnings to the equivalent hourly level. The employer will make all deductions from the worker paychecks as required by law. Workers who hold or obtain a MSPA certificate with driving authorization may transport workers and may be offered additional work hours.
