Chemist/Microbiologist

Municipal Water Treatment Chemist/Microbiologist The Municipal "Water" Authority of the City of New Kensington is seeking candidates for the position of Water Treatment Plant Chemist/ Microbiologist at its water treatment facility. The individual will be responsible for monitoring chemical treatment, maintaining quality control, monitoring the treatment process to plant operating guidelines, and maintaining plant records, including chemical inventories and regulatory reports associated with daily water quality analysis.

The individual should have a B.S. Degree in related sciences and must become certified as a Pennsylvania, Class A, Water Treatment Plant Operator. The individual should have related work experience or be knowledgeable in certified microbiological testing procedures, EPA water quality monitoring and testing procedures, regulatory reporting and computer data entry. The successful candidate will be required to become a resident within the Authority's distribution system no later than one year from date of employment.
