POSITION SUMMARY

The Residential Mortgage Originating Sales Manager will assist in the development and implementation of growth strategies for residential mortgage origination, including sales and marketing, program and product planning, and oversight of sales staff. This position will also execute a personal marketing and sales strategy toward established sales goals and targets while directly managing sales staff. This position requires frequent travel within the Banks assessment area and surrounding towns.  


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Embrace and embody Windsor Federals core values and consumer-centric model to provide superb customer service.
  • Promote Windsor Federal’s Community Reinvestment Act (“CRA”) lending initiatives.
  • Support loan originators by leading and aiding team members to provide exceptional customer service and initiative throughout the loan process.
  • Call on real estate brokers, builders, accountants, lawyers, and other potential referral sources to develop residential loan mortgage business.
  • Collaborate with our leadership team to report on sales goals and initiatives, strategic direction and report on team members’ growth, productivity, and areas in need of improvement.
  • Contribute to the success of the entire loan process through performance management, feedback, process improvement, and internal communication.
  • Create a pleasant working environment that inspires the team to exceed personal and organizational goals.
  • Consult with the Vice President of Residential and Consumer Lending to develop training programs and materials to ensure the continued growth and development of loan originators.
  • Monitor and support our loan originator’s communication, pipeline management, speed and accuracy to assure a smooth client experience.
  • Mentor loan originators on how to think critically when dealing with loan structure and processing of loan files
  • Educate loan originators on identifying potential red flags based on guidelines and borrower qualifications when analyzing financial and credit data.
  • Research and stay up to date on market rates, mortgage lending programs, policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements to help our team better consult our customers.
  • Collaborate with Bank employees by training and keeping appropriate personnel informed of product/policy changes. 
  • Attend staff meetings as directed by the Vice President of Residential and Consumer Lending, Executive Vice President, Chief Loan Officer and/or the President and CEO.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President of Residential and Consumer Lending in the review, testing and implementation of new and existing vendors.  
  • Promote Windsor Federal’s Community Reinvestment Act (“CRA”) loan programs and lending initiatives.
  • Assist with projects and tasks that directly affect the Bank and require assistance to complete.
  • Maintain NMLS registration.
  • Additional responsibilities related to business needs.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS

  • Seven plus years of experience in residential lending as a residential mortgage loan originator generating residential mortgage loan originations of $20 million or higher on average, demonstrate substantiated and relevant experience in underwriting to secondary market guidelines, and a working knowledge of operational management. 
  • A strong understanding of state and federal laws, including but not limited to FHA/VA regulations, conventional loan requirements, HMDA, ECOA, TILA, and real estate law.
  • Proficient in analyzing personal and business tax returns.
  • Familiarity with technology and software used by mortgage departments. Experience originating loans in the Encompass LOS is preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, good sales, and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid state driver’s license and reliable transportation for making outside sales calls and/or to meet loan applicants as needed.
  • Ability to multitask, motivate others and remain competitive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills
