Position Summary/Essential Duties:

  1. Partners directly with the Director of Medical Services on projects for all areas of Medical Services and UHPS as requested.  Defines project scope and objectives with key stakeholders.  Develops/documents project plan and schedule. Coordinates schedules to effectively schedule meetings, creates agenda, maintains minutes and action items, follow up between meetings with key individuals to ensure project milestones and deadlines are met.  Develops and maintains appropriate documentation and communication across multiple environments to ensure department operations are not negatively impacted. Manages changes to project scope, schedule, and cost as needed. Develops and updates workplans for implementations and communicates status to department leaders and staff on adherence to timeline and budget.

 

  1.  Prepares monthly Operational Reports and analysis for the Medical Services UHPS Team. Provides analysis as to the effect of operational targets on overall performance.  Responsible for the preparation of monthly and quarterly operations activity reports and serves as primary resource to the Medical Services Administration team.  Utilizes computer skills to maintain complex reporting - essential to providing timely and accurate reporting. Assists with quality reporting.

 

  1. Assists Medical Services UHPS administration with the development of operational plans,   

         procedures and systems. Reviews and evaluates current procedures and systems and develops     

        recommendations for improvement and or change.

- Identifies program/service strengths, weaknesses and financial impact. 

- Identifies opportunities for program/ service development. 

- Facilitates creation of new operational indicators by identifying process improvement opportunities and utilizing disparate data sources to provide timely, accurate and meaningful decision support tools.

 

4.)   Serves as a technical resource in the analysis and evaluation of operations and financial functions of clinical Departments as related to operational performance.  Provides such data to the operations team and participates in the decision making and implementation process for operational improvements. Develops and maintains expertise on identified operating systems.  (EPSI , Soarian, Midas).  Leverages Power BI to build reports and tools for end users pre and post project role out to monitor and track milestone success.

 

5.) Develops and implements mechanisms and controls to ensure appropriate billing and payment cycles, and accurate and  timely billing, in accordance with established internal and third party payer requirement. Provides leadership and works with clinical leaders, medical staff, and operational leaders to develop and implement team based care and flow processes. Identifies, tracks and monitors performance metrics not limited to financial and operational analysis and reporting and evaluation of services.   Participates in change management activities to support successful system deployments and enhancements.

Education/Expertise: Bachelor degree required

 

 

 

Required Credentials, License and/or Certifications:

  • PMP, CCA, CCS, RHIT, RHIA preferred.

 

 

Experience & Knowledge:

7 + years business experience preferably with a healthcare provider. Spreadsheet, graphing and analysis experience and familiarity with hospital mainframe systems desired. Must also be proficient with the business analytic tool, Power Business Intelligence (BI).

 

 

 

 

 

Special Skills & Equipment Knowledge:

Knowledge of Microsoft Office, EPSI, and extensive knowledge of excel required. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills required.  Strong analytical and communications skills required.
