EMT Instructor Breckenridge

Campus Colorado Mountain College in Breckenridge is seeking a part-time faculty to teach EMT Basic classes including EMS 145: Basic EMT Lecture, EMS 146: Basic EMT Lab and EMS 170: EMT Clinical. These classes will begin in January 2022 and will be offered through face-to-face instruction.

In this Instructor role, you will: Conduct classroom, clinical, and laboratory instruction using systematically planned and delivered instruction for courses Prepare curriculum to meet course competencies, syllabus, and maintain online course portal Maintain accurate record keeping as it applies to student attendance and grades Meet the student learning needs by incorporating a variety of teaching methods and assessments Participate in the development, implementation, evaluation and updating of curriculum Collaborate with College staff to retain students and help them be successful Build and maintain ongoing relationships with community, industry and clinical partners Maintain equipment and supplies for the classroom and labs, as necessary to support the assigned program area and future trends in industry

Requirements: An associate's degree from a regionally accredited college or university and 10,000 hours of verified, paid EMS work experience in the past five years is required; or bachelor’s degree and 4,000 hours of verified, paid EMS work experience in the past five years. Must have experience with pre-hospital emergency care. Degree in directly related field preferred. Minimum of one year demonstrated teaching/training experience (or equivalent as adjunct faculty). Current Nationally Registered EMT – Paramedic or State of Colorado EMT – Paramedic Certified required. Experience with wilderness medicine or remote EMS care is a plus. Successful completion of Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) Division of EMS Administration, Instructor Course (or completion of this course within the first month of being in position) required. Current Basic Life Support Instructor certification with the American Heart Association. Ability to relate to and help students of all skill levels. Written and verbal communication skills.
