Biweekly Hours: 80.00

Shift: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Summary: 

Promotes compliance with established System policies and procedures, union contracts and other contractual obligations, and applicable labor/employment laws and regulations. Proactively reviews policies and practices for effectiveness and appropriateness, including research of best practices. Advises regarding the resolution of routine employee and labor relations issues, including disciplinary and performance matters. Assists in the handling of internal and external complaints and grievances. Maintains metrics necessary to monitor the effectiveness of the programs. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

 


Qualifications:

Required: Bachelor’s Degree or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in addition to the experience stated below. Three years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources. Experience in managing EEO issues, grievances, corrective action, FMLA, and disability accommodation. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees, including senior leadership. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Preferred: Five years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources. PHR certification. Experience in unionized environment, including administration of collective bargaining agreements. Experience with Lawson or other HRIS systems. Physical Demands: May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and walking. May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to read policies, grievances, charges, industry guidance, etc. Ability to use computer.
