The University of Charleston School of Business & Leadership seeks candidates for Assistant/Associate Professor of Business for our undergraduate business and MBA program to begin in August 2018.  Our MBA program serves about 50 students and our undergraduate business programs serve over 300 students, including majors in business administration, accounting, and sport business with concentrations available in financial planning (approved by the CFP® Board of Standards), management, marketing, and leadership.

We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic individual with demonstrated excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate level, a record of applied research, ability to engage students in their professional and career preparation, and active engagement in service to the university, school, and community. 

Minimum Qualifications

• Doctorate in Business Administration, Marketing, Management, Economics, Accounting, or Finance. Candidates must have a record of excellent teaching along with potential for scholarly research in the discipline.
• This individual must possess both academic and professional qualifications for teaching applied quantitative courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level in one or more business areas, including marketing, management, economics, accounting, or finance. 
• Preference will be given to candidates who also possess a MBA, have five or more years of professional experience, and have earned related professional certifications (such as Lean Six Sigma, PMP, CPA, CMA, CFP, SPHR, etc.). 
• Preference will also be given to candidates with experience in student advising, recruiting, curriculum development, strategic planning, specialized business accreditation, and academic administration. 
• Candidates should have pertinent experience in utilizing appropriate technology in course development and delivery. Proven effectiveness in developing and teaching hybrid and online courses is also desirable.
