As a Finance Manger the essential duties are as follows:

  • Execute the analysis of accounts receivable and all related reserves (allowance for doubtful accounts and contractual service allowances).
  • Manage various aspects of financial reporting – including the account hierarchy, chart of accounts, etc.
  • Managing the month-end various aspects of the month-end close process to ensure the accurate and timely financial reports for the System financial statements.
  • Manage external audits and preparation of financial statements, including footnotes.
  • Manage performance improvement initiatives within the accounting department to drive increased efficiencies and controls.
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis support for Controller.
  • Provide direction to accounting staff to meet goals and objectives of timely, accurate financial reporting. Responsible for ensuring their work output is satisfactory.

This role may encounter Protected Health Information (PHI) as part of regular responsibilities. UH employees must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain PHI for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Education/Expertise:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required.

Masters Degree in Business Administration preferred.

Required Credentials, License and/or Certifications:

CPA required.

Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.

Experience & Knowledge:

Five to ten years progressive work experience required in finance/accounting. Healthcare experience preferred.

Extensive knowledge of GAAP required.

Must be detail-oriented and organized with good analytical and problem solving ability.

Solid client service, communication and relationship building skills required

Ability to function independently as a team player in fast paced environment required

Strong written and verbal communication skills required

Special Skills & Equipment Knowledge:

Advanced knowledge of Oracle general ledger and Hyperion. 

Advanced Microsoft Office skills – especially Excel.
