East Stroudsburg University’s Department of Sociology, Social Work & Criminal Justice is looking for part-time faculty to teach courses in the academic/professional disciplines in the department. Located in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, ESU’s proximity to New York City and Philadelphia provides convenient access to internships, careers and social activities. Just minutes from campus arethe country’s largest water parks, scenic Delaware Water Gap Recreation Area, Appalachian Trail, and other opportunities for recreational fun.The Department of Sociology, Social Work & Criminal Justice at East Stroudsburg University is establishing a three-year, temporary faculty teaching pool. All candidates must be able to teach the introductory, theory and practice courses within their academic disciplines. Candidates for sociology must also be able to teach general education course offerings. Candidates for social work must have an MSW degree with at least 2 years post-graduate practice experience and be a licensed social work practitioner. It is also expected that candidates for criminal justice have experience working in the criminal justice field. Applications on-hand will be used to fill vacancies as needed. Distance learning and/or off-campus teaching opportunities may be possible.ESU's Department of Sociology, Social Work and Criminal Justice offers several programs of study that lead to a Bachelor’s degree. Students can complete the Bachelor of Arts Program in Sociology, the CSWE Accredited Bachelor of Science in Social Work (BSSW) Program or the Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Program.
