The Montebello Unified School District (MUSD) is seeking candidates for a provisional appointment to the Board of Education through December 2020. In accordance with Education Code Section 35107 to be eligible to be elected or appointed as a member of a governing board of a school district, an interested party must be: 18 years of age or older A citizen of the State A resident of the school district A registered voter Not disqualified by the Constitution or laws of the State from holding a civil office In addition, in accordance with Education Code 35107(b)(1), a District employee appointed or elected to the Board must resign his or her employment before being sworn in, or his or her employment will automatically be terminated upon being sworn into office. Prompt - candidates are to submit a written statement (not to exceed 400 words) regarding their interest in the position and how they are qualified to empower our students to achieve academic excellence as model citizens.
