JOB SUMMARY:

  • Performs necessary functions required to maintain Radiology Information Systems in timely manner.
  • These include, but are not limited to Meditech (ITS.HAN module), Philips iSite (PAC's System), Lanier, WinScribe, PACS gear, and Power Scribe 360 Voice Recognition.
  • Responsible for implementing new systems, software releases, system enhancements, training, and day-to-day user related system problems.
  • Serves as liaison between Radiology and IS for radiology data issues, PACS issues, Meditech issues and outside vendors.
  • Maintains confidentiality of data and promotes security to others.
  • Generates reports from computer systems as needed.
  • Demonstrated thorough knowledge of programs and application functions for numerous systems.
  • Assistant liaison to physician offices/practices for issue's that arise with Philips iSite.

QUALIFICATIONS:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Computer literate and ability to understand Hospital and Department Information Systems.
  • Demonstrates organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of appropriate regulatory agencies.
  • Prefer previous management/supervisory experience in healthcare field.
  • Prefer four (4) post certification experiences.
  • Ability to critique processed radiography’s (or images on monitor) against measurable criteria as established by Radiology Department Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the principles of management, supervision, and program planning.
  • Proficient at computer software applications (RIS & PAC'S)
  • Implement new software releases.
  • Keep Charge Master up to date, including yearly CPT updated new charges.
  • Knowledge of patient safety precautions and contraindications.

  • Serves on hospital committees: (ex: Meditech Core Team, Forms Committee, Radiation Safety, and Radiation Committee).
 
Position Requirements

LICENSURE/CREDENTIAL REQUIRMENTS:

Must hold a current valid Indiana State Driver’s License.

Associate is responsible for maintaining records of individual continued education and will submit them along with self-evaluation at scheduled performance review.

ADDITIONAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Mandatory Annual Continuing Education: Customer Service, Fire and Safety, Confidentiality-HIPAA, Infection Control, Corporate Compliance. Annual Unit Specific Competencies, and all education required by regulatory, accreditation bodies and/or Hancock Regional Hospital.
