Schedule is currently Monday - Friday . Must be available between 8:00 am - 5:30 pm

POSITION TITLE: Medical Secretary

POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs duties of general secretary, maintaining a high degree of confidentiality. Emphasis on familiarity with medical terminology.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

High school diploma required. Courses in typing, medical terminology required. Two years experience preferred. Proficient with phones,data entryand strong customer service skill is required.

Prefer healthcare and EPIC experience along with being bi-lingual

Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, SKILLS OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Operates mechanical and electrical equipment, necessitating good manual dexterity and vision. Good interpersonal skills and communication skills, ability to adapt to changing workload and stressful situations. Operates word processor, copy machine.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS:

Office setting. Exposure class I or II; service specific – Possible routine exposure to blood, body fluids, excretions or secretions. Hazards include risk of communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and risk of physical injury. Works in a clean, well-lighted and ventilated office. Subject to noises and interruptions. Risk of physical injury associated with the mobility involved in the retrieval and movement of records.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Light work: may work long and irregular hours in an emotionally stressful environment.

WORK CONTACT GROUP:

All services, employees, medical staff, patients, visitors, vendors, various regulatory and professional agencies.
