JOB SUMMARY:

  • Technical Specialist I to serve the information system needs of Hancock Regional Hospital by using technical knowledge in healthcare information systems.
  • The Technical Specialist I will provide PC Support, printer support and network support for Hancock Regional Hospital and its various entities.
  • The Technical Specialist I will test, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair PC's, printers, servers, peripheral devices and telephones.
  • The successful Technical Specialist I will also have technical knowledge of MS Office and can provide technical support for the Hospital's end-users.
  • The successful Technical Specialist I will be able to provide superior customer satisfaction working with a wide variety of customers - from Housekeepers to Doctors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

JOB SPECIFIC CORE COMPETENCIES:

  • Customer Focused - Ability to manage troubleshooting tickets and ensure a timely response, keeps customer informed of progress and outcomes
  • Excellent Communication Skills - keeps calendar up to date/sends clear emails on progress of work orders.

  • Problem Solving- by analyzing situations and applies critical thinking in order to resolve problems and decide on courses of action and implement the solutions developed in order to overcome problems and constraints

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Outstanding Troubleshooting / problem solving knowledge on PC's, printers, peripheral devices and telephones.
  • Good understanding of network troubleshooting.
  • Strong technical knowledge of MS Office and MS Server Products.
  • Ability to work in the "field" with end-users as well as ability to work helpdesk.
  • Strong technical knowledge of virus removal and malware removal.
  • Outstanding communication capability.
  • Superior knowledge on configuring, installing and upgrading PC systems.
  • Ability to make recommendations to improve PC Support and peripheral devices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot / problem solve in a Virtual Desktop Environment.

Position Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Min of Associates Degree Required or equivalent.
  • Mandatory Annual Continuing Education: Customer Service, Fire and Safety, Confidentiality-HIPAA, Infection Control, Corporate Compliance.
  • Annual Unit Specific Competencies, and all education required by regulatory, accreditation bodies and/or Hancock Regional Hospital.
