Become a part of our team of competent and compassionate professionals as a Recovery Coach in the Peer Support Services program at Behavioral Health Network!

**NOTICE**

In accordance with the BHN Mandatory COVID vaccine policy - all staff, interns, temps, residents and contractors are required to be fully vaccinated no later than day one of employment. Medical or religious exemptions will be offered and must be approved prior to starting work.

Recovery Coaches work with adults with substance use disorders in the Springfield, Westfield, and Holyoke, MA areas and are passionate about helping others and having a positive impact on others. Recovery Coaches have various shifts available, including full-time second shift to join an exciting pilot program, Project Hart in Holyoke, MA.

BHN strives to empower those we serve to be in the ‘driver seat’ of their lives, and to clearly define their needs, wants, hopes and dreams, and the Recovery Coach assists in making that happen!  If hired as the Recovery Coach, BHN will send you to a 40 hour Recovery Coach Academy training.

In the Peer Support Services program, Recovery Coaches connect directly with individuals within the community to inspire hope and increase peoples’ chances for success in their own recovery. We help the individuals we serve find their own unique paths to recovery and the achieving of personal goals and dreams.

Behavioral Health Network is a growing non-profit community behavioral health agency that has been providing services to children, adults, families and communities in Western Massachusetts since 1938.  BHN provides comprehensive, outcome-driven behavioral health care. We are dedicated to offering high quality, affordable and culturally appropriate care to people of all ages and income levels in our constituent communities.

 

All offers of employment at BHN are contingent upon clear results of a thorough background check. Background checks will be conducted on all final candidates and on all employees who are promoted or transferred to a new program, as deemed necessary.

Background checks will include:

Prior Employment Verification: confirms applicant's employment with the listed companies, including dates of employment, position held and additional information available pertaining to performance rating, reason for departure and eligibility for rehire.

Personal and Professional References: calls will be placed to individuals listed as references by the applicant.

Educational Verification: confirms the applicant's claimed educational institution, including the years attended and the degree/diploma received.

Criminal History: includes review of criminal convictions and probation.

The following additional background searches will be required if applicable to the position:

Motor Vehicle Records: provides a report on an individual's driving history in the state requested. This search will be run when driving is an essential requirement of the position.

Substance Abuse Testing: positions embedded with these specific healthcare organizations are subject to a pre-employment substance abuse test, which includes the testing for the consumption of THC (Marijuana)

Job Requirements:

Recovery Coaches at Behavioral Health Network have the following qualities:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English (strongly preferred).
  • Prior completion of the Recovery Coach Academy (a plus, but not required).
  • Enrollment in or completion of a CADAC program (a plus, but not required).
  • 2 years experience working with individuals in recovery from substance use disorders (strongly preferred).
  • Familiarity with substance use recovery support services (required).
  • Valid driver's license and reliable car for work purposes (required).
