Physical Requirements | This position required ability to walk and stand for several hours at a time on an intermittent basis. Lifting object up to 25 lbs. Sitting at a workstation for extended periods. Climbing ladders and walking uneven terrain may occur rarely. |

Job Summary | This position develops, implements, and evaluates programs and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy environment for employees, students, patients and visitors. Compiles and trends injury and illness data- identifying high risk areas. Establishes relationships with University departments and develops specific injury and illness prevention plans. Produce and communicate injury illness rates and prevention program reports, web pages and presentations for a wide range of audiences. Collaborates with safety team to conduct audits, training, and presentations to communicate safety and health risks. Specific experience ergonomics, slip and fall prevention plans, and CPR/AED training is beneficial. |
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | Excellent written and oral communication skills; proficient in Microsoft Office/365.- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. Ability to learn specific software and databases for collecting and displaying data. |

Preferred Education/Experience | Degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Public Health, Engineering, or related field. Three years of experience plus a Masters in Public Health, Industrial Hygiene, Health and safety, or related field. Certified Safety Professional (CSP); Experience with databases like Access; and Farm Safety. |
