Serves as an Andrologist; will be trained and must be willing to learn and perform all aspects of the Andrology laboratory under direct/ indirect supervision of senior staff and/or lab director. Performs clerical tasks to contribute to the successful operation of the laboratory. Follows established policy and protocols for quality control, andrology procedures and standard set forth by state and federal agency including Ohio department of health, College of American Pathologist (CAP), and Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Participates in a learning environment, including continued development and learning of knowledge and skills. Maintains proper communication and interaction with patients, clinical staff, and laboratory personnel. Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies. Requires to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required. Performs assignments as requested by Lab Director. Demonstrated basic knowledge of reproductive biology including male reproductive system and Andrology related techniques. Ability to learn to use compound microscopes. Handling hazardous specimens; manipulation of sperm samples. Management of aseptic techniques. Basic computer skills. Good communication skills.
