Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track) at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City: Requires a Doctorate degree in Music Composition including courses in electroacoustic music composition and music technology; at least 6 months prior applied teaching experience at the university level in music theory and music technology including use of instructional technologies (this experience can be through employment, training or an academic program); and evidence of attaining professional distinction as a composer through cross-disciplinary artistic work involving collaborations with scientists, engineers and/or artists outside the field of Music, as evidenced by performances at national/international electroacoustic research institutes such as ICST (Institute of Computer Music and Sound Technology - Zurich), Qualcomm Institute - San Diego, and MIAM (Center for Advanced Studies in Music - Istanbul). The Assistant Professor in the School of Music will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in composition, music technology, music theory and related courses; supervise projects, theses and dissertations; recruit students; coordinate and advance the music theory and composition curricula; provide service to the College and University; and maintain a notable and visible professional career as a composer that indicates continuing growth and national or international visibility.
