Reporting to the Director for the Office of Multicultural Affairs, the Senior Program Coordinator will work to support the retention of under-represented students at Tulane University using an advocacy based, trauma informed approach. The Senior Program Coordinator is responsible for leadership and cultural identity development of students through organization advising and programming. They are also expected to offer culturally responsive experiential learning opportunities that support the mission of the office and the Carolyn Barber Pierre Center for Intercultural Life. The Senior Program Coordinator is also instrumental in advocating with and fostering a sense of belonging ultimately centering students who have been marginalized.


About the Office of Multicultural Affairs:

The Office of Multicultural Affairs is part of the Carolyn Barber-Pierre Center for Intercultural Life. Using an advocacy based liberatory approach, the Office of Multicultural Affairs cultivates support, connection, and growth to retain current Black, Indigenous, Hispanic, Latine/Latinx, Asian, Multiracial and other students of color. We also work to maintain strong relationships with alumni who hold these identities. We do this through Community Engagement, to support persistence & sense of belonging; Decolonized Leadership Development, to cultivate coalition building; Advocacy, to support growth and agency; and Cultural Identity Development, to support student retention & celebrate student success. OMA also fosters opportunities for continuous antiracist action-oriented learning moves us towards equity throughout the campus community through Social Justice Educational Opportunities.
