Summary: 

Responsible for the implementation, execution and continuous improvement of products and services that contribute to the MHS IS Security Program, including security policies, standards and procedures, security awareness, security reviews, assessments and risk management, vulnerability management and security testing, and security incident response. Evaluation, selection, implementation and ongoing support and maintenance of needed security tools and services. Knowledgeable of multiple MHS technology or application areas. Ability to use basic functions of several security products or services (including, but not limited to: SIEM, DLP, Data Management, Vulnerability, Security Testing, IAM, firewall, web content filter, cloud, deception, threat intel, AV/AM, and IDS/IPS). Qualifications:

Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in addition to the experience stated below. 5 years of Information Services Engineering experience, including a minimum of 2 years in Information Security. Knowledge of a minimum of three IS technology areas (Access Management, Network, Device, Data, or Application). Competent with multiple security products or services, understanding how and where each fits within security program. Knowledge of healthcare specific security and privacy regulations and guidance. (HIPAA). Excellent communication skills. Security Certification Preferred: Advanced Security Certification (SSCP, CEH, CISSP, HISP) Physical Demands: May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating. May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to read job related documents. Ability to use computer.
