POSITION : This position will be responsible for writing code that will run Electronically Commutated Permanent Magnet Motors with integrated electronic controls rated up to 5 HP. Working with engineers, sales and customers to establish specifications, design hardware and firmware, then conduct application testing to ensure design requirements are achieved. REQUIREMENTS : Position requires a Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, mathematics or physics with a minimum of 5 years work experience. Good understanding of analog and digital electronic hardware, including off line power supply driven circuits. Data structures and C or C++ programming, understanding of microcontroller architecture, especially of memory organization and interrupt handling. Application experience is necessary writing, implementing and then documenting single chip embedded firmware into a production environment for electric motors, switching power supplies or other high voltage physical systems. Essential skills in real time, event-driven programming with careful resource utilization. The ability to debug embedded firmware. A good understanding of low level communication protocols such as SPI, 12CI2C, UART, etc. Strong project management, oral and written communication, and reporting skills necessary. The successful candidate will be a hands on person, very comfortable using oscilloscopes, logic analyzer, circuit probing, etc. Experience with 8 or 16 bit ATMEL microprocessors would be a plus.
