The Director of Finance for the University of Idaho Foundation provides oversight to the financial operations of the Foundation, working collaboratively with the Executive Director, Board of Directors and in partnership with the University. Responsible for the financial oversight of the University of Idaho Foundation. This includes financial, accounting, reporting, and investment activities. This position is based at the University of Idaho campus in Moscow, ID, and travels regularly to Foundation and University-related meetings and functions. Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or closely related field. 5 to 7 years experience managing a complex financial organization. Comprehensive knowledge of accounting theory, principles, and practices. Considerable knowledge of principles of management, auditing, data processing applications in financial management, governmental accounting, budgeting. Good knowledge/experience of investments, real estate, and estate planning.

Demonstrated experience with:

Accounting and administrative systems, records, and procedures, establishing internal controls, analyzing and interpreting financial information and reports, and recommending management action, preparing financial management reports, statements, narrative and schedules required for financial reporting. Demonstrated ability to: communicate effectively, make presentations before groups, supervise staff, establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of professionals.

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters Degree in Business Administration or advanced degree in related discipline. CPA Certification. Knowledge of tax reporting requirements in the non-profit sector. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Excellent communication skills and ability to deal effectively with a variety of people. Experience using relational database software, especially the Banner administrative computer systems.
