The U. S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is the Federal Government's primary source of funds for homeowners, renters, businesses of all sizes, and private, non-profit organizations throughout the United States, American Samoa, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Puerto Rico, Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the U. S. Virgin Islands who have suffered property damage in a disaster. SBA makes these low-interest, long-term disaster loans to help pay for repairs to damaged real estate, personal property, and businesses.

Salary/Benefits:

  • Positions range from GS-9 through GS-12 ($54,120 - $102,027) plus paid overtime.
  • May work 7 days a week 12 to 14 hours a day withoutflexibility in scheduling overtime.

Duration and Requirements:

  • This employment is temporary and may last up to 13 months.
  • Weekend work may be required and mandatory overtime could be substantial.

Disaster Reserves Quality Control Specialist/Loan Officer

As a Quality Control Specialist/Loan Officer, you will serve as a member of the Disaster Reserve personnel at the Processing and Disbursement Center location.  Your main duties will be to perform performance reviews/audits on mortgage, consumer and commercial loans.  You will facilitate and implement phases of quality assurance for the Processing and Disbursement Center.  Independently utilize a number of methods to obtain and quantify measurable data derived from a variety of sources including sampling of case files.  Evaluate departmental performance against current policy and procedure to identify potential problems relating to improper payments that may occur in the loan processing or disbursement process; recommend corrective action as appropriate. Degrees in finance, business administration, economics, accounting, mathematics, banking and credit, real estate operations, statistics, or related business area of study preferred.

Disaster Reserves Quality Control Specialist/Attorney Advisor

As an Attorney Advisor (General), you will serve as a member of the Disaster Reserve personnel at the Processing and Disbursement Center location.Your main duties will be to conduct periodic internal reviews / audits on loans to ensure Small Business Administration compliance procedures are followed and to disseminate written policies and procedures for legal sufficiency. Review the quality of legal advice and documentation in the Application Processing and Accounts Departments, by analyzing legal sufficiency determinations for the draft loan approvals, loan closing files, and letters to borrowers. Experience in a real estate or mortgage lending environment is a must. Also must have current bar card (any state acceptable). 

Disaster Reserves Quality Control Specialist/Paralegal Specialist

As a Paralegal Specialist, you will serve as a member of the Disaster Reserve personnel at the Processing and Disbursement Center location. Your main duties will be ensuring all policies and procedures are implemented and well documented, performing internal reviews / loan audits, and identifying compliance problems that directly conflict with Small Business Administration regulatory policies and procedures.  Review the quality of the loans' legal documentation by analyzing legal sufficiency determinations for the draft loan approvals, loan closing files, and letters to borrowers. Experience in a real estate or mortgage lending environment is a must. Degrees in law, legal studies, finance or related business area of study preferred.
