The Office of Law Enforcement Oversight (OLEO) of King County Council is looking for a Project Administrator that will serve as a resource on administrative processes, data analysis, database management, and support overall office operations.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a clear understanding in applying office guidelines and work methods and the ability to collect, track, and analyze data.

OLEO is dedicated to improving the lives of King County residents through its independent oversight of the King County Sheriff's Office. Job Duties

The job duties include but are not limited to:
  • Receive and screen mail, emails, telephone calls, and visitors; handle routine matters, respond to public inquiries, or route calls as necessary in a timely manner.
  • Develop monitoring and tracking systems to support work activities and projects; administer and monitor such systems.
  • Assist in researching and assembling information from a variety of sources for the preparation of records, reports, and special projects.
  • Serve as primary resource for data collection, which may include performing data entry.
  • Maintain databases and provide ongoing monitoring to ensure data accuracy.
  • Assist with data research and projects, needs assessments, conversion of data to charts, tables, and graphs, and report production.
  • Identify and interpret trends or patterns in data sets.
  • Perform other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.
Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills

Minimum qualifications: This position requires advanced skills in office and database management. A successful applicant should have a minimum of 3 years' experience working in an administrative support environment that includes working with data. An Associate degree in government, public administration, equivalent field is preferred and may substitute for some experience. This experience must clearly demonstrate the ability to perform the job duties of the position.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS)-certified.
  • Experience working in IAPro or other similar investigative case management systems.
Ideal candidates will possess:
  • Ability to plan and sequence the logistics involved with scheduling meetings and projects.
  • Ability to prepare spreadsheets, graphs, and charts, and enter, import, and export data to and from databases.
  • Sufficient math skills to tabulate, summarize, and compile statistics using numeric data.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations, personalities, and styles-including community members and law enforcement personnel-in situations that may be sensitive, high-risk, and publicly visible.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects while meeting objectives and deadlines. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel Suite.
  • Well-developed knowledge of proper English usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation to prepare and edit correspondence, reports, etc.

ABOUT THE POSITION

This position is open to all King County Employees only applicants. Acceptable proof of identity and authorization to work in the United States are required by federal immigration law.

This is a salaried, at-will, overtime-exempt position that is not eligible for the county Career Service system. The standard workweek is 35 hours. Non-traditional work hours and travel throughout King County may occasionally be required.

TELECOMMUTING POLICY

The work associated with this position is primarily performed remotely. There will be situations where the employee is required to report to a County worksite, depending upon the operational needs of OLEO. Employees will receive a County issued laptop and must maintain a workspace with an internet connection where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours.

Employees must reside in WA state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements. Please note that when an employee conducts work that is likely to bring them in contact with another individual, safety precautions are required by the department in alignment with the Public Health Directive
from the Seattle & King County Public Health Officer.

COVID-19 VACCINATION REQUIREMENT

All Legislative Branch staff must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. If hired, you will be required to submit proof of vaccination before hire. WORK SCHEDULE

This position is FLSA overtime-exempt; however, employees of the Legislative Branch of King County Government hold a standard work week of 35 hours. Though this position may occasionally require some non-traditional work hours to attend meetings, community engagement activities, or scenes of critical incidents occurring at night or on the weekends, OLEO supports flexing work time to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
