UW Medicine Finance & Accounting has an outstanding opportunity for Financial Reporting Manager. This individual will play a leadership role in the preparation, compilation, and review of the UWM internal and external and consolidated financial reporting for the entire UWM Clinical Enterprise. This individual has primary accountability for ensuring the technical accuracy, relevance, and consistency with both Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal financial reporting policies. In collaboration with the various UW Medicine entities and the UWM Director of Financial Reporting, this individual will develop and maintain standard financial reports and reporting tools across the enterprise.
Under the general direction of the UWM Financial Reporting Director, the primary job duties of the UWM Financial Reporting Manager include coordination and resolution of complex financial reporting issues among health system entities, development and maintenance of standard Board level financial reports, and leadership in business and technology projects where consistent, standard reporting is a critical deliverable. In coordination with the UWM General Ledger (G/L) Integrity Manager, this work includes ensuring processes are in place for keeping general ledger accounts, cost centers, budgets and source systems for reporting tools in sync; developing reports and tools to ensure meaningful, consistent and reproducible results; and either preparing or overseeing internal and external reporting of Financial information.
The UWM Financial Reporting Manager will serve as an internal financial reporting authority for UWM Medicine and will be the primary point of coordination between the UWM entities and the external financial statement auditors.
This individual is a key member of the Finance Team, working very closely with the UWM and Entity leadership to provide relevant and timely policy and advisory support to UWM. Particular complexity arises from the continued work across UWM to integrate and consolidate clinical and administrative systems, processes, and resources.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of five (5) years working experience demonstrating familiarity with the process flow and functions of an accounting department
Experience with preparing GAAP financial statements, including consolidations, is required
Master's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field is required
Public Accounting experience required
Experience with State, Local, and Federal tax compliance preferred
CPA strongly preferred
Strong understanding of GAAP and GASB
Advanced skill level in using General Ledger applications and supporting software programs, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access
An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
