The Registered Professional Nurse is responsible for the planning, implementing and evaluation of care for a given patient population with the established standards and practices of Crouse Hospital.  This process is enacted through direct clinical practice, management of patient care and general professional duties.

Required: IF HIRED OR LICENSED AFTER 1/1/2017:

Graduate of an accredited Nursing degree.  MUST complete BSN (Bachelors in Nursing within 8 years of hire date into the Registered Nurse position).. Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State. One (1) yr critical care experience required.  Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire or within 2 weeks after hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required at the time of hire.  Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification must be obtained within three (3) months of the hire date, if deemed necessary for the position based on the scope of the assigned role.

Preferred: Certification in a specialty area.
