Senior Communications Manager $6,122 - $7,442 monthly 

The General Services Department is seeking a dynamic and visionary communications manager to serve as a member of the Executive Team. This individual will be responsible for building the department brand identity, developing and implementing communications and marketing strategies, and producing promotional materials to support the department, the County Administrator, and the Board of Supervisors' strategic initiatives. The Senior Communications Manager will work closely with management to craft internal communications and media messages, as well as provide media-related event support. Additionally, the Senior Communications Manager will:

• Formulate a brand strategy and communicate performance metrics and accomplishments relating to:

o Community engagement plans for the County's property and capital investment program initiatives as directed by the Board of Supervisors

o Fleet Operations and Energy and Sustainability Divisions' Climate Action Plan, Clean Commute program, and implementation of electric vehicle-charging initiatives

o Veterans' Building programs and events

• Assist in the development of General Services' business plans and associated communication materials

• Manage General Services public information in coordination with the County Public Information Officer to include the creation of draft and final materials such as press releases, video scripts, brochures, advertisements, and designs

• Conduct client satisfaction surveys; analyze, and present results on media platforms

• Manage digital and social media platforms for the Department

• Provide disaster communication support

• Develop content associated with General Services' implementation of Board of Supervisors' strategic initiatives: Housing for All, and Infrastructure Investment, among others

The Ideal Candidate for this position will possess the following competencies:

• Be a strategic, creative, analytical thinker, with the ability to see the big picture

• Exceptional skills in writing, editing, proofreading, layout and design, professional printing, publishing, and oral presentation

• Excellent organizational, planning, project, and time-management skills to meet the demands of multiple assignments and projects simultaneously

• Strong knowledge and practical skills using web design, digital and social media content-delivery channels

• Experience developing creative and innovative solutions to public sector communications challenges

• Have a proven ability to represent an organization's mission and services in order to actively promote value to clients and the community
