JOB SUMMARY: The Massage Therapist is responsible for providing clients of the facility’s massage therapy service with massage to relieve discomfort and to ease muscle tension.

QUALIFICATIONS:

JOB SPECIFIC CORE COMPETENCIES:

  • Customer Service: Greets massage client with proper AIDET+P and manages time during their appointment to give client full use of their scheduled appointment.
  • Communication: Checks voicemail/email and replies within 24 hours of message during the business week.
  • Professionalism: Maintains proper dress code while working of a HWC logoed collared shirt, jacket, or business casual attire and HH Badge.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs massage therapy sessions with members, achieving monthly session targets, as established by the facility.
  • •Maintains records of current and former massage clients (including attendance, payment, workouts).
  • Participates in the marketing and promotion activities to build a strong client base.
  • Develops a system for retention of current clients and for client referrals.
  • Confers with clients before the massage begins to learn their medical history and what problems they may have with stress or pain.
  • Gauges the condition of the client’s soft tissues, the joint function and quality, range of motion, and muscle strength, and proposes a specific treatment plan based on it for the client.
  • Confers with physical therapists, chiropractors, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to design the proper treatment plan for a client.
  • Educates clients on how to improve their posture, and teaches them strengthening, stretching, and rehabilitative exercises as well as relaxation techniques.
  • Follows established procedures when equipment is found to be malfunctioning to return it to operational status within 24 hours, including posting appropriate status signage, notifying the MOD or maintenance personnel, and recording the problem in the equipment log binder.
  • Remains knowledgeable and proficient in all facility rules, regulations, and policies and enforces when applicable.
  • Maintains current information on all center programs, services, and activities, and promotes them regularly.
  • Responds to all emergency situations per facility policy and procedures.
  • Greets members and guests by name and with a smile, and delivers world-class customer service at all times.
  • Refers clients to other facility and hospital services as appropriate/needed.
  • Attends all scheduled employee meetings. •Assumes other duties and projects as assigned.

 

 
Position Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Certification in Massage Therapy from the State of Indiana required.
  • Continuing education requirements up to date for all certifications and licensure required.
  • Basic computer skills, excellent communication and customer service skills required.
