The State of Connecticut Judicial Branch is seeking a qualified individual to develop and implement a multi-faceted Training Program for the Gail Burns-Smith Sexual Assault Forensic Examiners Program, for the purpose of ensuring that health care providers and community partners receive training that allows for skilled and trauma-informed care for patients who present as victims of sexual assault in Connecticut’s acute care hospitals.

The preferred candidate will hold a current unrestricted Connecticut license or the ability to obtain a Connecticut license as a Registered Nurse or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and possess the following experience and credentials:

  • Background in the care of sexual assault patients and knowledge regarding sexual assault issues and best practices in the clinical care of sexual assault patients;
  • Experience in teaching adult learners;
  • Administrative or management experience preferred;
  • 10 years of professional nursing experience;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing;
  • Board Certified SANE-A (Applicants who do not possess the certification will be considered however certification must be obtained within the first year of employment).

Salary Range: $105,093 - $138,725/year – plus State of Connecticut benefits.

New employees begin at the minimum.  The starting salary for existing state employees may be higher than the minimum, in accordance with existing Judicial Branch policy.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

 

General Experience: Nine years of professional experience in a broad range of functions related to assigned areas, including some responsibility for planning, research and statistical analysis, organizational analysis, or a related field. 

 

Substitutions Allowed: 

1) College training may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen semester hours equaling one-half year of experience to a maximum of four years for a Bachelor’s degree.

2) A law degree or a master's degree in a related field may be substituted for one additional year of the General Experience. 

Special Requirements: Incumbents may be required to travel in the course of their daily work.
