Scientific Program Analyst Keystone Symposia on Molecular and Cellular Biology is currently seeking a Scientific Program Analyst to support our Chief Scientific Officer in support of her role of planning scientific meetings. The successful applicant for this analytical position must have BA or BS in a biology/medicine. Candidates must have strong computer skills in Microsoft Excel (including PivotTables and knowledge of VBA), PowerPoint, social media and internet skills. Candidates must also be proficient in SQL. 

The Scientific Program Analyst will be responsible for assisting the Chief Scientific Officer in support of her role in planning scientific meetings. This position will be primarily analytical, including tasks listed below.  Other duties may be assigned.

·         Analysis of US and global scientific trends

·         Analysis of current and past KS meeting portfolios to identify trends in attendance and demographics

·         Analysis of government and Foundation funding announcements and funding trends

·         Identifying new topic areas that could be targeted for new KS meetings

·         Assisting in preparation for the Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) meetings and in the interpretation of SAB output

·         Assisting in the analysis of SAB expertise and demographics

·         Maintaining and analyzing the competition database and contributing to meeting placement discussions

·         Attending selected conferences to seek scientific feedback

·         Assisting with grant writing and the preparation of various reports

·         Organizing collaborations to bring local students to scientific conferences

·         Organizing workshops to allow Postdocs & Students to meet senior scientists 

·         Assisting with the creation of online content including scientific blogs and video discussions with senior scientists 

Qualifications:

The successful candidate must have a recent BA or BS in a life science discipline and an outstanding college record with evidence of a strong interest in biology/medicine. Candidates must also have strong computer skills in Microsoft Excel (including PivotTables), PowerPoint, social media and internet skills. Candidates must have a knowledge of computer programming (experience with SQL a plus). Strong written communication skills are essential.  Candidate must be very interactive, enjoy working in a team environment and communicate well with colleagues. This position is for 2 to 3 years.
