Position 1/ Shift 1 - Monday-Friday 6:00a.m.-2:30p.m. (Scanlon Hall)
Regular Days Off: Saturday and Sunday
Position 2/Shift 2- Sunday- Thursday 6:00a.m.- 2:30p.m. (New Hall)
Regular Days Off: Friday and Saturday
Internal WSU Candidates will be given first priority
Supervision Received: Receives direct supervision from Director of Environmental Services.
Supervision Exercised: The Maintainer III supervises 1 - 10 Maintainer I's.
Salary: $1,563.48 Bi-Weekly
Working Conditions:
Maintainers stand and walk for prolonged periods of time; lift and carry heavy objects; work outdoors in all types of weather; work varied shifts, weekends, holidays or nights; are exposed to the hazard of wet, slippery floors; work under exposure to the hazards to chemicals, toxic and noxious fumes, dust, excessive heat, high noise levels, high volume traffic conditions and high voltage wires; work from ladders and scaffolds; and may be required to climb trees and operate motor vehicles.
General Statement of Duties:
Provides direct supervision for Maintainer I's assigned to various buildings on campus; assigns work and makes sure standards set for buildings are maintained; performs various manual tasks required for routine maintenance of buildings and grounds; assesses the need for emergency maintenance and repair and makes recommendations to supervisor; performs routine custodial duties.

Minimum Entrance Requirements:
Must have at least (A) two years full-time or equivalent part-time, experience in building custodial or institution housekeeping work and (B) at least one year must have been in a supervisory capacity or (C) any equivalent combination of the required experience listed on the state jobs specifications.
License and/or Certification Requirements:

For the majority of new employees, the minimum starting salary will apply. Specific salary for current Westfield State University employees and individuals currently working for the state of Massachusetts must be calculated individually in accordance with collective bargaining and state policies and procedures.
