Job Summary:

Interprets medication orders and prescriptions to ensure they are complete, safe, rational, and compatible with institutional policy.  Prepares compounded sterile products for inpatient and ambulatory uses.  Assists in cleaning activities for the compounding lab.  Coordinates deliveries of medications to offsite locations.  Participates in quality control and quality assurance programs.  Follows all relevant pharmacy laws, hospital policies, hospital procedures, and applicable state and federal standards.  Provides direct supervision of pharmacy technicians and participates in training initiatives for new employees. 

Minimum Qualifications:

B.S. in Pharmacy or Pharm.D., NYS license and registration - or eligible - required; completion of PGY1 Pharmacy residency or equivalent experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous hospital experience preferred.
