SUMMARY:
Public Health Seattle-King County is looking for a self-motivated, flexible, and compassionate Public Health Nurse (PHN) to increase nursing capacity on the Mobile Medical Program’s Street Medicine Team as well as provide support to the Mobile Medical Vans. In this role, the PHN will work with a multidisciplinary street team that addresses the medical, behavioral health care and harm reduction needs of people living homeless. The Street Medicine Team is currently comprised of a nurse practitioner, public health nurse and behavioral health focused outreach worker. A second PHN will allow the team increase capacity for conducting nursing assessments, street based wound care, COVID testing, STD testing, and provision of test results. The role will work with the Street Team three days a week and support the Mobile Medical Vans 1 to 2 days per week to support primarily COVID testing. This schedule is subject to change.

Job Duties:
The Street Medicine Team seeks out and brings care directly to people living outside and in encampments. The team aims to engage people in health education, professional and peer support, and treatment for their medical and behavioral health conditions via a trauma-informed and harm reduction approach. The Street Medicine team has been in operation for approximately a year and this new PHN will have a unique opportunity to inform and shape program development. Job duties include:
