Job Description

*** Sign On Bonus for $1000 paid out in first paycheck***

• Prepares supplies / medication under the direction of a Pharmacist.
• Prepares and packages bulk medications into unit of use packaging.
• Handles controlled substances for pharmacy and patient care areas under direct supervision of a pharmacist per federal and state law.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area.
• Delivers pharmacy prepared medications, controlled substances and supplies to various nursing stations/patient care areas.
• Triages phone calls and messages
• Maintains all requirements for CPhT certifications. Completes all Spectrum Health assigned competencies by assigned due dates.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

• Retail or hospital pharmacy experience preferred.

• Temporary Pharmacy Technician License (State of Michigan) required upon hire.
• Permanent Pharmacy Technician License (State of Michigan) required 1 Year from hire date.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPHT) - PTCB Pharmacy Technician Certification Board required 1 year from hire date -OR-
• Pharmacy Technician Certification (ExCPT) - NHA National Health Career Association required 1 year from hire.
