This position is responsible for assigning and coordinating the work of Carpenters, Maintenance Constructors and support staff on the Shelter Refurbishment crew. This work involves providing technical assistance and lead direction to a group responsible for various facility maintenance, shelter refurbishing and other related projects. This position works directly with a Facilities Chief and manages most field aspects of the Shelter Refurbish Program, along with most of the records/documentation associated with the project(s). This is a working lead position and all normal duties of a Carpenter or Maintenance Constructor will also be performed. Vacancy Information This recruitment will be used to fill one immediate career service position as a Transit Shelter Refurb Lead, in King County Metro's Facilities Division. It may also be used to create an eligibility list for any future career service positions that may need to be filled in the next year. Who May Apply In accordance with the ATU Local 587 bargaining agreement, this position is open ONLY internally to all Metro King County Facilities Division employees who have completed two years of current full-time service at Metro within the classification to be led, Transit Carpenter or Maintenance Constructor. This vacancy will be recruited from the journey-level trades of these work groups. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position is required to frequently lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift objects up to 100 pounds with assistance. This job also requires frequent walking, reaching, climbing, kneeling and stooping; and safe operation of power tools. |
