RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Business Technologist, you will perform predictive and prescriptive data analyses to enable decision making by senior NSA leaders. Business Technologist responsibilities include: - Employing some combination (2 or more) of analysis, computer science, mathematics, and software engineering skills to devise strategies for extracting meaning and value from large datasets. - Through analytic modeling, scripting, and/or programming, develop and implement qualitative and quantitative methods for characterizing large datasets in various states of organization, cleanliness and structure. - Reviewing the nature and quality of cost data sources and evaluate their relevance to analyses; recommending action for improvement and use of sources. - Translating practical mission needs and analytic questions related to large datasets into technical requirements and, conversely, assist others with drawing appropriate conclusions from the analysis of such data. - Effectively communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences through varied visualization and presentation methods. - Design analytic tables, reports and dashboards using business intelligence tools and platforms.
SKILLS
The ideal candidate is someone with a desire for continual learning and who possesses strong communication (oral and written), problem-solving, analytic, interpersonal skills and is: - Adaptable - Detail-oriented - Able to manage multiple tasks with competing timelines and deliverables - Adept at manipulating large data sets Knowledge and experience in the following areas is desired: - Managing complex projects with multiple tasks and milestones - Manipulating large data sets - Data analysis to include forecasting and trend analysis - Data visualization tools - Financial or business-related computer programming (e.g., Python, SQL, R) - Microsoft Office suite of tools plus add-ons (e.g., Power BI, Power Query/Pivot, Tableau)
PAY BENEFITS & WORK SCHEDULE
Salary offers are based on candidates' education and years of experience relevant to the position and also take into account information provided by the hiring manager/organization regarding the work level for the position and vary by work level. Salary Range: $61,947 - $164,102 (Entry/Developmental, Full Performance, Senior) On-the job training, internal NSA courses, and external training will be made available based on the need and experience of the selectee. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, with basic 8hr/day work requirements between 0600 and 1800 (flexible).
POSITION SUMMARY
In support of the Agency as a whole, the Business Analysis group leverages financial analytic tools to facilitate data collection management, data analysis, advanced analytic studies tool development, metrics, and forecasting. This organization provides cost/financial data and analyses to enable senior leader resource decision making.
