As a Principal Agile Product Owner (APO), you will work with an Agile development team to build features and applications for EBSCO’s Identity & Access Management ART.  As a connecting point between product management and technology you will utilize a unique blend of business and technical savvy to make the company vision a reality. 

As a member of the technology product management team, you will take an active role in amplifying the voice of end-users and the product line strategy to your development team. You will participate in user testing and user research, data-driven product analysis, and help monitor key technology trends to ensure positive outcomes for the evolution of the EBSCO Discovery Service experience.

What you’ll do  

  • Work with an agile development team to deliver great products and services for our customers
  • Lead team ceremonies as product owner
  • Know your product details and contribute a genuine passion and enthusiasm for the product and mission
  • Effectively present product information to all audiences as necessary (team, stakeholders, etc.)
  • Negotiates and makes responsible decisions on scope, sequencing, and timing
  • Assist Product Managers with the definition of product features and functionality
  • Articulate goals for each Iteration that are tied to making progress against the PI objectives to maximize delivery of business value with strict attention to the sequence of work
  • Research and understand how users want to receive the product and how they want to use the product
  • Maintain an actionable backlog of well-articulated, prioritized, and estimated features that constitute enough work for the upcoming increments for their assigned area(s)Express requirements in well written stories which have clear SMART acceptance criteria
  • Ensure high quality software releases to our customers
  • Can articulate and advocate for problems that solutions should be built for
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency to identify and mitigate Risks and Dependencies
  • Encourages the team to make reasonable commitments to achieve predictability 
  • Promote continuous improvement

Skills or experience that you need 

  • 7 or more years working as a business analyst or in product management (preferably as a product owner), or one year as a member of an agile development team
  • 7 or more years of experience working within a Lean-agile software product development method, such as Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe
  • 7 or more years of defining and documenting product requirements into small, well-articulated, and valuable deliverables

Skills or experience that sets you apart 

  • Experience with Identity and Access Management (AuthN/AuthZ) a plus
  • You have used a variety of business analysis tools and techniques to aid in the breakdown of large chunks of work, elicit requirements, or make decisions
  • Can derive actionable insights from customer usage data
  • Practical experience with A/B or multivariate testing, user testing, and/or telemetry
  • A proven track record of developing and managing world-class consumer-facing software 
  • Comfortable working in a highly collaborative environment across multiple functional teams
  • Comfortable presenting to groups and demoing working software
  • Comfortable challenging requirements to ensure we are delivering what is best for the customer
  • Experience with APIs a plus

 

Target Annual Salary Range: $ 117,680-168,115. This Pay Target range includes a bonus target of 5% of base salary. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, education, training, and experience, as well as the position’s work location.
