Summary: 

Operating with considerable autonomy, leads efforts within the Department of Operations Research & Analytics (DORA) to advance the organization’s use of data and information. Works in tandem with DORA personnel and development teams to accurately and efficiently create sustainable business value by transforming raw data into actionable information for the end user. In conjunction with partners in Information Services, leads the creation, deployment, and maintenance of effective data structures, ETL processes, BI infrastructure, data visualization, and analytical tools. Serves as the core resource for data manipulation, transformation, and automation via programming using appropriate languages such as SQL, C# and Python.

 


Qualifications:

Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, Operations Research or related field 10 years of progressive development/analytical experience. In lieu of degree, 12+ years of progressive development/analytical experience. Experience with an electronic medical record (EMR) system, i.e. Epic, Cerner. Expert knowledge of programming with SQL. Proficient in one of the following languages: C#, Python, or R. Expert with the Microsoft BI stack (i.e. Visual Studio/SSDT/SSIS) including recent versions of SQL Server. Expert in designing data warehouse structures, to include the “Kimball” methodology Expert in applying ETL best practices. Expert with SQL Server performance tuning techniques. Proficient with Git and/or Azure DevOps. Experience with Agile development/management methodology. Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery. Experience with Web Services (i.e. SOAP, Rest, WSDL). Experience with data visualization approaches (i.e. Tableau, Power BI, Qlik) Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Preferred: 15 years of progressive development/analytical experience. Experience with one or more of the following: Kronos, Infor/Lawson, EPSi Knowledge of machine learning, data mining, and predictive analytics. Experience with Big Data technologies (i.e. Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Pig, Sqoop, Flume, Oozie). Experience with Cloud (i.e. Azure, AWS). Knowledge of statistics, simulation and data modeling. Physical Requirements: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to read job related documents. Ability to use computer.
