Karnes County is accepting applications for the position of Road & Bridge Engineer / Road Administrator. This position plans, directs, manages, and oversees the activities and operations of the Karnes County Road & Bridge Department including development of and implementation of department goals, objectives, policies and procedures; represents and coordinates assigned activities with other county departments, outside agencies, contractors, and the general public; develops and administers an annual operating budget & plan; and manages the selection, training and evaluation of Road & Bridge personnel.
Requirements for this position: Bachelor's Degree. (Degree in Civil Engineering preferred; Texas Professional Engineering License preferred). In the event a qualified engineering candidate's application is not received, Karnes County will consider a candidate with substantial construction experience and commensurate supervisory/managerial experience. All candidates must have a valid Texas driver's license, must pass a background check, must provide 3 professional references and a resume.
