Patient Care:

* Promotes and maintains health by providing medical services under the supervision of a Physician
* Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventative health care services in accordance with Mississippi State Board of Medical Licensure (MSBML), approved protocols, and national standards of practice
* Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans

Patient Education:

* Provides instruction and counsel regarding medical care matters and issues to patient/family member
* Serves as a resource for community agencies, as needed

Recordkeeping:

* Ensures timely and accurate (as established by policy) system documentation of patient status and patient care activities including treatments, procedures, and medications prescribed

Continuing Education:

* Ensures clinical competence by staying abreast of changes in medical management
* Maintains board certification
* Completes annual CME required programs
* Participates in a variety of healthcare education activities

Regulatory:

* Adheres to NMHS/NMMCI Policies/Procedures/Guidelines
* Complies with applicable State/Federal/Regulatory Policies/Procedures/Guidelines/Laws

Requirements:

* Master's Degree in health-related or science field; required
* Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program; required
* Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA); required
* Licensed by the Mississippi State Board of Medical Licensure as a Physician Assistant; required
* Certified by the American Heart Association (AHA) in CPR; required
* Excellent problem-solving, organizational and communication (written and verbal)skills; required
* Provide care to patients ranging from neonate to geriatric; required
* Excellent interpersonal skills; required
