Job Summary

-The Surgical Technologist internship is designed to introduce the student Surgical Technologist (ST) to the role of ST and introduce them to their role in overall patient care.

-The Surgical Technologist intern assists in preparing and maintaining a sterile environment by incorporating current surgical standards, policies, and procedures vital to the practice of Surgical Technology.

-The Surgical Technology program case requirements are separate from those cases that the Surgical Technologist intern participates in.

Requirements

-Current Surgical Technology student in an accredited program, all prerequisites completed, and have successfully completed Introduction and Principles of Surgical Technology.

-Letter from the Surgical Technology program director stating student is in good standing in the program.

-The ST intern is required to have and maintain CPR/BLS certification.
