THIS SPECIAL DUTY ASSIGNEMNT (SDA) IS FOR UP TO SIX MONTHS, with possibility of an extension.
This position is responsible for serving as Facilities Management Division's (FMD) top finance manager and managing the finance and payroll section. Duties include directing the work of finance and payroll staff including recruitment, selection, discipline, terminations, employee development, and performance evaluation of said staff; developing strategic long-term policy on financial and budgetary issues; overseeing the financial responsibilities of the expanded parking program and print shop operations; monitoring financial activities for Harborview capital funds, Harbor Island Film Studio project, and ongoing hotel acquisitions; administering bond, federal, and state grants, and budget reporting compliance; auditing and managing payroll risk for the division; and collaborating on emerging issues as a member of FMD's leadership team

This opportunity is open to all eligible King County employees. The successful candidate must have permission from your immediate supervisor to accept an SDA. This position is exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is therefore not overtime eligible. Employees are paid on a bi-weekly schedule, every other Thursday, comprising a 40-hour workweek; normally 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. This position is not represented. This position is currently working remotely but may be required to work onsite occasionally or in the future.
TEMPORARY TELECOMMUTING REQUIREMENT:
The work associated with this position will be performed primarily remotely. Employees must reside in WA state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements. There will be situations where the employee is required to report to a County worksite.
