Performs semiskilled work in the maintenance and repair of a golf course and related facilities, and related work as apparent or assigned.  Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent

Mows and trims greens, tees, fairways and rough with many types of equipment.
Waters, seeds, fertilizes, aerates greens, tees and fairways.
Maintains and cares for sand traps.
Clears brush and wooded areas; hauls sand, mulch and debris.
Removes, cuts, trims and transplants trees and removes leaves on course; removes debris and snow.
Works on construction and maintenance projects which include operating various types of equipment.
Assists with maintenance of all golf course equipment

General knowledge of lawn care to include maintenance of greens, tees and fairways; general skills required during construction/maintenance projects; ability to operate several types of equipment to include riding mowers, tractors, trimmers, etc. in a safe manner; mechanical ability to assist with the upkeep of the golf course equipment; ability to work in various weather conditions; ability to understand and carry out instructions; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public.
 
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED and minimal experience in the performance of grounds maintenance and repair work, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

This work requires the regular exertion of up to 25 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force; work frequently standing, walking, sitting, using hands to finger, handle or feel and reaching with hands and arms and occasionally requires speaking or hearing, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, pushing or pulling, lifting and repetitive motions; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, using of measuring devices, operating machines, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities; work regularly requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions and occasionally requires working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, exposure to the risk of electrical shock and exposure to vibration; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
