Full-time Commercial Printing Estimator

Apex Color is a wholesale printer operating in Jacksonville, Florida. Celebrating over 48 years in business, we provide commercial printing and business forms for the trade throughout the Southeast.

We are seeking candidates for a commercial printing estimator role. In this role, you can expect to develop cost estimates on routine and complex print jobs as required by customers' requests. Candidates should have experience with this type of work to be considered and understand final size/flat size imposition for large press sheets. Candidates should be familiar with various paper sizes, weights and grades. Experience with EFI-Pace software is preferred but can be taught if you have experience with another similar estimating software.

This is a full-time, on-site position.
Hours: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm Monday-Friday

Job duties/responsibilities:

• Generate custom estimates according to clients’ requirements.
• Estimate the specific job costs and timelines relative to material and direct labor cost
• Examines specifications, layouts, pricing and schedules to determine the most cost-effective production method.
• Communicate and negotiate with vendors on behalf of the company to obtain competitive pricing & scheduling to meet our customer's needs.
• Establish and maintain relationships with outside vendors and industry experts; maintain knowledge of current and new technologies
• Develop solutions and produce top-quality results through continuous improvement
• Reviews postproduction tickets and compares actual vs. estimated costs

Pay: Starting at $44,000 per year, based on experience

Requirements:

• Must be able to pass background and drug test.
• 5 years of commercial printing experience is preferred
